How to Become A Member
After you have made the decision to join the fellowship of Rising Star Baptist Church you must attend New Member Connection Orientation Sessions which consist of 6 sessions held every Sunday from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Hospitality Room 1B. You must complete all 6 sessions in their entirety to be considered a member of the Rising Star Baptist Church. It is important that you are on time for each class. If you are more than 15 minutes late to a session, you will not be allowed to enter the classroom and must reschedule for that session.
Sessions consist of:
- Star 1201 - What is means to be a church member.
- Star 1202 - What is a church?
- Star 1203 - God’s plan of salvation and What it means to be saved.
- Star 1204 - The ordinances of the church.
- Star 1205 - God’s financial plan for the church.
- Star 1206 - What is my gift and How do I use it? The Gift inventory process.
Once you complete all 6 sessions you will be presented with your certificate of membership and given the right hand of fellowship during the 1st Sunday of the month during the morning worship.
Everyone is invited to full participation in all programs and activities at Rising Star prior to formally joining the church; however, you will not be able to participate in any ministry activities (i.e. gospel choir, ushers, nursery, etc.) until you have successfully completed the new member connection orientation process.
